MicroSomal Liquid Calcium Disodium EDTA
EDTA is short for ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid. It is a chelator, and chelation is a simple enough piece of chemistry: the molecule carries several binding sites that close around a metal ion and hold on to it, rather like a claw, which is exactly what the Greek root of the word means. EDTA has been manufactured since the 1930s and is one of the most widely used chelating agents in the world, turning up in food production, cosmetics and laboratory work wherever loose metal ions need to be kept tied up.
