Functional Art for Your Home or Studio
Beyond its function, the Mayu Swirl adds beauty to your daily rituals. Its hand-blown borosilicate glass carafe rests on a handcrafted porcelain base, making each piece one of a kind. Whether placed in a kitchen, meditation space, or wellness studio, it doubles as a calming design element.
Simply choose your base from the drop down menu - earth, graystone or dolomite.
The Ideal Gift for Wellness Seekers
Whether for yourself or someone you love, the Mayu Swirl is a thoughtful gift for those who value wellness, design, and water in its most natural form.
Why Aerate?
Oxygen Enhancement
In nature, water is naturally infused with dissolved oxygen. Much like the aeration process employed in winemaking, allowing water to breathe initiates a transformative journey. Through rigorous testing with water sourced from various locations, the efficacy of the MAYU Swirl system in augmenting oxygen levels has been established.
Balancing pH
Alkalising Effect
As CO2 evaporates from the water, a natural process facilitated by aeration, the oxygen content rises, instigating a transformative cascade of chemical reactions. This elevation in oxygen levels fosters an environment conducive to enhancing the alkalinity of the water, a phenomenon crucial for achieving optimal pH balance.
Structured Water
Unlocking Cellular Hydration
Studies have shown that just 7 minutes of swirling can prompt water molecules to return to their natural synchronised shape. This shape is recognised by the cells in our body, making it easier for water to penetrate and effectively hydrate the cells.
Molecular Coherence
Promotes Cell Health
Molecular coherence improves the movement of water in and out of red blood cells, allowing each cell to function more efficiently. This supports better cellular balance, more effective toxin elimination, improved concentration, and higher energy levels.
state-of-the-art

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Mayu Swirl actually do to water?
The Swirl is a mechanical vortex device. Its motor spins water in a continuous swirling motion inside the borosilicate carafe. This physical action has three measurable, verifiable effects:
- Aeration - the vortex exposes water to air, increasing dissolved oxygen. This is the same principle used in winemaking and aquaculture.
- CO₂ off-gassing - dissolved carbon dioxide escapes, which raises the water's pH (making it slightly more alkaline). The degree of change depends on your tap water's starting chemistry.
- Volatile organic compound (VOC) reduction - light agitation helps disperse low-boiling contaminants such as residual chlorine and some VOCs.
These effects are grounded in standard water-chemistry principles and have been confirmed in supplier testing conducted across multiple water sources.
Is the water really "structured" - and what does that mean?
"Structured water" is a term used by Mayu Water and some researchers to describe water in which molecular clusters may temporarily adopt more ordered arrangements, sometimes called H₃O₂ or exclusion-zone (EZ) water.
What we can say with confidence:
- Vortex motion is a real physical process. Fluid dynamics studies confirm that swirling changes flow patterns and surface exposure.
- The measurable outcomes above (oxygen, pH, VOC reduction) are well-established and repeatable.
- Mayu Water has conducted proprietary testing showing changes in water properties after vortexing. We are happy to share those reports on request.
Where the evidence is still emerging:
- The existence of a stable, long-lasting "structured" phase in bulk liquid water under normal conditions is an active area of scientific debate. It is not yet established in peer-reviewed consensus literature.
- Claims that structured water significantly improves cellular hydration, detoxification, or energy levels in humans have not yet been confirmed by independently replicated clinical trials.
- Dr Gerald Pollack's EZ-water research (University of Washington) is frequently cited in this space and represents a legitimate line of inquiry; however, it remains preliminary and contested within mainstream biophysics.
Our position: We find the research promising and share it transparently. We sell the Swirl for its verified mechanical benefits - aeration, pH adjustment, and the daily ritual of intentional hydration - not on the basis of unconfirmed biological outcomes.
What certifications does the Swirl hold?
The Mayu Swirl is certified to ETL, CE, and FCC standards, covering electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility for use in Australia and internationally.
What is the warranty?
Every Mayu Swirl includes a 2-year limited warranty from Mayu Water. Warranty claims are handled directly through Mayu Water; contact us and we will facilitate the process.
Does the Swirl filter or purify water?
No. The Swirl is a vortex aeration device, not a filtration system. It does not remove heavy metals, bacteria, microplastics, nitrates, or fluoride. For best results, start with good-quality tap water or filtered water before vortexing.
How long should I swirl my water?
Mayu Water recommends a minimum of 7 minutes of continuous swirling. The device runs automatically on a timed cycle, so there is nothing to watch - simply place your carafe on the base, press the touch sensor, and let it run.
Is the glass safe and BPA-free?
Yes. The carafe is made from 100% borosilicate glass - the same glass used in laboratory equipment and premium cookware. It contains no plastics, BPA, or coatings that contact your water.
